Salt Lake City Becomes Battleground Over Proposition 8
Sunday November 16, 2008
The war in California over Proposition 8 has spilled across Utah's borders with protesters targeting the LDS Church for their role in defeating the measure. So far, nearly seven LDS wardhouses have been vandalized and protesters have joined rallys nationwide by rallying at Temple Square and at Washington Square.
I'm interested in hearing from my readers about their take on the issue. Go to my poll and comment below.

The basis of our country is freedom of choice and I’m sorry but by denying any persons that right, we are no longer a country of freedom. Both the LDS church and the protesters are right in what they are doing. The LDS church has the right to defend the union between man and woman and the gay population have the right to be married. Unfortunately the LDS church has overruled because of their huge following and 10% tithing tax every member of the LDS church has to pay, which made the largest impact in the turn out for Proposition 8. I do not feel that protesters have the right to vandalize and disturb the peace, but they definitely have the right to peacefully rebel.
