Tracy Aviary Free During UEA Break

Admission to the Tracy Aviary is free during the upcoming UEA school break Oct. 1-4. The Aviary is celebrating their accreditation by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, granted Sept. 16.

The AZA had denied accreditation to Tracy Aviary in 2006, citing uncertain funding and aging facilities. Since then, Aviary employees have worked to improve and replace outdated exhibits and infrastructure. In 2008, Salt Lake County voters overwhelmingly passed a $19.6 million bond for improvements at the Aviary.
