The results are in, and Astro Burgers was number one in the About.com Salt Lake City burger poll with 37 percent of the vote. Astro Burgers serves Mexican and Greek dishes as well as their famous pastrami burgers, and obviously they have a loyal following. Congratulations, Astro!
Astro was followed by "I'm waiting for In-n-Out" at 25 percent and Crown Burger at 18 percent.
Speaking of In-n-Out Burger, I talked to a company spokesperson yesterday, and she told me that In-n-Out's Orem and Draper locations will probably open next Thursday. In-n-Out was mobbed when it opened in St. George last year, and I expect the same will happen for its other Utah locations.
I've eaten at In-n-Out twice in the past couple of months, both in St. George and in California, and their fresh burgers and freshly cut fries really are good. They are similar to Five Guys Burgers and Fries, but I like Five Guys a little better. Five Guys lets you customize your burger with lots of different toppings, and at their Utah locations Five Guys has fry sauce.

Oh just wait until the Orem one opens. There’s tons of students from Southern California alone…the place will be swamped for months. In n Out has a whole secret menu that people in the know
order from. I like getting my burgers Animal Style (mustard spread on the patty before grilling, and grilled onions are added on).
Can’t wait for Draper. I will be there thursday!
That is part of the beauty of In-N-Out…simplicity! And for those who want more there is the whole “Secret” menu (see the previously mentioned “Animal Style”). Its on their website now so I’m not sure how you could complain about the lack of choices!
Went to In and Out Burger in San Francisco for the first time – it was amazing! You go in and order a wonderful burger and enjoy a clean atmosphere.
Are you kidding me? Five Guys sucks! Their burgers are sooo disgusting! The bun is flat and soggy, the patty’s taste like generic frozen meat that’s been left outside for 5 years and is way too greasy even by “burger standards.”
Yeah! Greek Burgers FTW!!!! Although the Burger King and I know that Tsunami’s Jalapeno Teriyaki burger is the crown jewel of the wasatch front burger world. I also agree with B.K. about 5 guys. I think they do use fresh beef, but for some reason their burgers taste bland to me, no matter how many toppings I throw on. And by the time I’m done, the grease has soaked all the way through the bun and it’s falling apart between my fingers and landing on my pants. I have eaten there 3 times to try and give it a new chance. Each time I leave feeling like a grease bomb went off in my stomach and I regret my decision to eat there. Yeah, I’m a slow learner.
