Even after a near-miraculous comeback to tie the Colorado Rapids Sunday night, RSL narrowly missed winning the MLS Supporters Shield, which goes to the team with the best regular season record. Instead the Shield will go to LA Galaxy, who beat FC Dallas Sunday night.
Now RSL is focusing on the playoffs, which begin with a home-and-home series versus FC Dallas. Game one will be Saturday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. MT at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, and game two will be at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday, Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. MT. Both games will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel (FSC).
The series will be decided by aggregate goals, with the winner advancing to a one-game elimination round against either LA Galaxy or the Seattle Sounders. RSL and FC Dallas split their regular season games, with each team winning at home. RSL has not won a game at FC Dallas in its eight-year history.
