Earth Day 2012 is Sunday, April 22, and some of Salt Lake's favorite restaurants will be celebrating this week with Earth Day specials, candlelight meals to conserve energy, a seedling and craft sale, recycling event and garden cleanup.
Bambara and the Hotel Monaco will team up for three environmentally-friendly projects to celebrate Earth Week 2012. From April 16-20, for each "Powers' Lunch" sold, $1 will be to The Nature Conservancy. Bambara's "Powers' Lunches" showcase Executive Chef Nathan Powers' support for local and sustainable agriculture. From April 18-20, an e-waste "Recycle Round-Up" will be held in the Lobby of the Hotel Monaco accepting phones, printers, small electronics and computers. On April 21, Bambara and Hotel Monaco's Green Teams will help clean up the Rose Park Community Garden.

Oasis Cafe will celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, April 22, 2012 with a candlelight three-course dinner special for $25 featuring halibut and locally grown produce. All proceeds from this special will benefit the New Roots and Global Artisan projects.
During the day on Earth Day, Oasis Cafe will host New Roots and Global Artisans for a seedling sale and craft fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. A variety of seedlings will be available for sale in addition to earth-friendly crafts such as recycled paper necklaces and coffee bag handbags. Artisans will teach Oasis diners how to make necklaces and bracelets out of recycled paper.

Faustina Executive Chef Billy Sotelo will be featuring an earth friendly candlelight dinner on Sunday, April 22. All proceeds from this special will benefit New Roots and Global Artisan projects to benefit Salt Lake area refugees. Chef Sotelo's Earth Day special is a ratatouille tartlet with pulled mozzarella and eggplant caviar priced at $12.
