Salt Lake City planners will kick off their 2013 planning process with the "Downtown Story Project," and they want you to share your downtown story. The public event, tonight at the Salt Lake City Main Library at 7 p.m, begins with a screening of Salt Lake City: A Downtown Story, a documentary about the history of SLC blocks 75 and 76 (the current home of the City Creek Center). After the screening, filmmakers will be on hand to document participants' memories of downtown SLC, and these stories will become part of the 2013 planning process.
If you haven't seen Salt Lake City: A Downtown Story and you can't make it to the event tonight, you can watch it on YouTube (link below). It's amazing how much the two blocks south of Temple Square have changed over the past 150 years.
