I love a Parisian-style bakery, and there's a new one brightening up January-dreary Main Street in SLC. Eva's Bakery and Café, opened January 15 by Eva owner Charlie Perry, is like a mini-vacation to Paris, offering European-quality breads, crafted by Ryan Moore; pastries, cookies and desserts created by Alisa Watson; and table service at breakfast and lunch with items like soups, salads, French toast, croques and bakery-style pizza.
All the items at Eva's Bakery and Café are made with organic ingredients, and the breads are made with a three-step process using sourdough starter. Some of my favorite items at Eva's Bakery are the classic baguette, kalamata olive bread, savory French toast, chèvre cheesecake, and all-American lemon squares. Eva's Bakery and Café is at 155 S. Main St., just south of the City Creek Center. They are open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and can be contacted at 801-359-8447. If you haven't tried their sister restaurant Eva at 317 S. Main St., it's a great spot for small plates and creative cocktails.
