Free Halloween Events in SLC

By October 14, 2013

Follow me on:

I generally don't think of Halloween as a big expense when planning my budget for the year, so I've sometimes been caught by surprise when the cost of candy, costumes, decorations, parties and activities really starts to add up. Luckily, there are lots of free Halloween activities for families in the Salt Lake area, so savvy parents can plan celebrations that don't wreck the monthly budget.

Probably the biggest free Halloween celebration in SLC is the Monster Block Party at the Gallivan Center, which is on Saturday, Oct. 26 this year. Draper, Herriman, Cottonwood Heights, West Valley, South Salt Lake, Midvale and Bluffdale also have free community Halloween parties. The Utah Foster Care Foundation sponsors a free Pumpkin Fest at the Gateway, and there's a free Trick or Treat Street party at the Utah Olympic Oval.
