Close Games Dominate This Week In Salt Lake City Football

Thursday October 9, 2008
University of Utah

Utah had Oregon State come to town with a hard fought game. At the end the Utes rode the entire game on Utah's leading scorer, Louie Sakoda's foot. He scored the winning field goal with no time left on the clock. Utah won 31-28 and moved up to 14/13 in the polls. Next, it will be a cold game at Wyoming.

Brigham Young University

BYU went to Utah State after a week off. The Aggies put up a fight and gave the Cougars one of their toughest games in awhile. Utah State was the first team to sack Max Hall this season along with getting two interceptions and a blocked field goal. But, BYU's moral seemed down even with a 34-14 win since the polls this week show BYU dropped to 9/8.

NBA Basketball

The Utah Jazz pre-season play started this week when Utah went to the LA Lakers and won 99-90. Later this week, the Jazz open at home with Phoenix coming to town on Thursday.

The regular season starts on October 29th against Denver. This season should be an exciting one, with many hoping to see how high Utah can climb this year. Discuss the Jazz's shot at a championship in '09.

What's In The Basement? October 11th

Tuesday October 7, 2008
Don't miss the What's in the Basement? annual event at the Utah Museum of Natural History this year on October 11th. This year, the museum is featuring their new Bugs Alive! exhibit, their first live exhibit. Instead of seeing pinned bugs under glass, this exhibit displays unusual live bugs from around the world.

Did you know there are over 1.2 million artifacts housed in the museum's basement that aren't usually on display? During What's In The Basement?, you'll get to see these rare treasures and explore the museum's basement and other areas that are usually off limits to guests.

For more October fun at the Utah Museum of Natural History, sign up for the annual Halloween Spooktacular Sleepover.
