Lyndsey KocherLyndsey B. Kocher is About's Salt Lake City guide and an experienced community journalist. She's passionate about Salt Lake's neighborhoods, the snow and outdoor recreation. This life-long city resident is ready to show you around town. Experience:Lyndsey was born in Ogden, Utah and then moved to Sandy City before she could babble her name. Salt Lake is her turf and she knows every nook and cranny. If something new pops up, she's nosy enough to go and check it out. She interned with the Utah Medical Association while in college and then started her own copywriting business, writing for both local and national companies. For a time, she wrote for the Salt Lake Tribune Close-Up section, profiling local businesses and neighbors. Now, she freelances for the Valley Journals and a local outdoors magazine. She served as Vice President of Writers@Work, a local writing group that hosts an annual writing conference every year at Westminster College. Every once in awhile, she donates her time and writes grants for local non-profit organizations. Education:Lyndsey managed to graduate from Howard Driggs Elementary, Churchill Jr. High, Skyline High School and finally, the University of Utah. Whew! She majored in Journalism and minored in Creative Writing. Once she graduated, she entered the school of Mom and had two curious children who always need something to do. From Lyndsey Kocher:Salt Lake City has the reputation of being a stodgy, conservative town. While that's true down south in Provo, Salt Lake is a progressive, vibrant city that doesn't deserve the rap. We've got a nightlife, albeit with curious liquor laws. We've got fine dining and we've got a spectacular outdoor environment to play in. I hate to brag, but we've truly got it all. Find out more About Us: Our Story |
