Salt Lake City gets its Irish on in March with a St. Patrick's Day parade, dance performances, Celtic music and parties. Here's a list of Salt Lake City St. Patrick's Day events to liven up your celebration.
Start your St. Patrick's celebrations Saturday, Mar. 1 at 6:30 p.m. with "Night with the Irish Poets," focusing on the work of William Butler Yeats. Dean's Hall, St. Mark's Cathedral, 231 E. 100 S. The program is free, but please bring a can of food for the St. Mark's food bank.
St. Patrick's Day parties at Piper Down start Friday, March 14 and go until Monday, March 17. Celtic music and dance, Irish food and drink, games and audience participation make this one of SLC's biggest St. Paddy's celebrations. Performers include the Rebel Celts, Dunmoore Lasses, and Heathen Highlanders.
The annual Salt Lake City St. Patrick's Day parade, sponsored by the Hibernian Society of Utah, makes its way through the middle of the Gateway Saturday, March 15, beginning at 10 a.m. After the parade there will be a siasma, or party, in the Gateway Grand Hall with plenty of fun and beverages.
Faustina in downtown Salt Lake is hosting a special brunch in honor of St. Patrick's Day with EPIC Brewing Co. on Saturday, March 15 from noon to 2 p.m. EPIC's Brewmaster Kevin Crompton will be there to educate diners about EPIC Brewing fundamentals and the distinctions of each selection, along with tasting notes for beers complementing Chef de Cuisine Joe Kemp's special St. Patrick's brunch menu. The four-course menu is $25 for brunch and $20 for the beer pairings. Reservations are required for this event and can be made by calling 801-746-4441. Legend has it that St. Patrick banished all the snakes from Ireland. Join the Hogle Zoo for a day of St. Patrick’s Day fun as you learn about snakes, and go on a St. Patrick's Day treasure hunt for “gold”. Don’t forget to dress in green for $1 off regular admission.

A mass in honor of St. Patrick will be on Sunday, March 16 at St. Joseph the Worker, 7405 Redwood Rd. A corned beef and cabbage dinner, and an evening of singing and music follows at the parish hall.
