The Salt Lake County Fair features livestock and craft exhibits, a petting zoo, helicopter rides, a carnival and all the fair food you can eat. There's tons of free entertainment, including the Mark Wills Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The Mark Wills concert is free, but you do need a ticket, available at the fairgrounds or at Mountain America Credit Unions. 23. Tour of Utah
120 of the world's best pro cyclists will race around Utah August 10-14, in the six-day, 420-mile Tour of Utah, covering some of the Beehive State's most demanding terrain. Each stage of the race brings a different challenge, whether it's a fast, flat loop around Utah Lake, speeding through close crowds at Miller Motorsports Park, or enduring the epic, up-and-down 100-mile journey from Park City to Sandy and back to Snowbird.

27. Rock 'n' Ribs Festival
Grab some wet wipes and c’mon downtown to enjoy rockin’ music and flame-grilled favorites from some of Salt Lake’s best BBQ restaurants. BBQ competitors from all over the country will also compete for $10,000 in cash prizes at this Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event.
Competitors will cook ribs, chicken, pork and brisket on Gallivan Avenue starting Friday, August 19 through Saturday afternoon. Local BBQ vendors will be selling ribs, flame-grilled favorites and $3 sample plates to the hungry crowd.

30. Beer Pairing Dinner at Oasis Cafe
Oasis Cafe on is holding a beer pairing dinner Tuesday, August 30, featuring EPIC beers. A special selection of 5 oz. samples has been carefully paired with Executive Chef Billy Sotelo's dinner menu, served as "small plates" courses. The cost is $28 for the menu tasting and $20 for the beer pairings. EPIC's brewmaster Kevin Crompton will be there to talk about each beer's signature elements and nuances of the brewing process.
