12. 'Find and Sign' at Pioneer Memorial Theatre
Salt Lake City - Pioneer Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Find and Sign by Wendy MacLeod. Set in the New York City music industry (with a slight nod to Othello), Find and Sign takes us through the bumpy romance between an on-the-rise young record executive and an idealistic public school teacher. Wendy MacLeod has written a funny, touching and compelling romance for our time.

14. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Events
Events honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place throughout the Salt Lake Valley during the week of Jan. 14-21.
15. Andy's Birthday, "Whoo's in the City" and Winter Wednesdays at Tracy Aviary
Tracy Aviary offers free admission every Wednesday throughout January and February. In addition, the aviary will be hosting these fun January Events:
- Join Tracy Aviary and TreeUtah at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, for "Whoo’s In Our City?, a program about urban forests and the native neighbors who live there. Meet a live bird, create a crafty owl mask and delve into tree-focused exploration stations during this hour-long experience. Program is free with aviary admission.
- Come celebrate as the aviary's beloved Andean Condor, Andy, is turns 53 on January 21, 2012, with a party from 1-3 p.m. Play games, make crafts, eat cake, and enjoy an encounter with Andy himself!

17. Sundance Film Festival
This year's lineup of films has been announced, and organizers are almost ready for the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Jan. 19-29. The annual independent film festival brings hundreds of Hollywood power players and wannabes to Park City. If you've never attended the festival, you might want to give it a try. It can be a lot of fun, even for non-Hollywood types.
Registration is already closed for the locals advanced ticketing process, but there are still plenty of ways to get Sundance screening tickets. Once you've decided what films you want to see, you can try to get tickets online or at the box office starting Jan. 17. If that fails, there's always the wait list, which will score you a ticket surprisingly often.
18. 'Rigoletto' at the Utah Opera
Giuseppe Verdi’s enduring masterpiece is based on the Victor Hugo play, Le Roi S’Amuse. The action follows Rigoletto, a duke’s jester, whose insensitive mocking of another man’s anger earns him a curse and an eventual loss of horrific proportions.

19. Free Third Saturday Art Activity at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts
The UMFA has recently re-installed the Egyptian collection into the upstairs galleries. The museum's Third Saturday activity in January allows visitors of all ages to investigate a brand new interactive station all about the sarcophagus and then decorate actual sheets of papyrus to take home.
