Park City has a number of high-end, amazing restaurants, but El Chubasco, located in the Prospector Square shopping center on Bonanza Drive, is not one of those. Instead, it's a cheerful, quick and inexpensive place to get some tasty, fresh Mexican food and one of my favorite casual Park City restaurants.
El Chubasco is a fast-casual style restaurant, so customers place orders at the counter and servers bring the food to the tables. There's a salsa bar in the middle of the restaurant with about twenty different salsas and other toppings. Be warned, the salsas labeled "hot" (with three chili peppers) are very hot. My favorite salsas are the pico de gallo and the salsa chipotle.
My favorite dishes at El Chubasco are the carnitas platter and the chicken enchiladas. I wouldn't recommend the fish tacos, which are made from fried fish, but some people love them.
The atmosphere at El Chubasco is no-nonsense but colorful, and sometimes the place is crowded. Depending on the day, you might have trouble finding a table. Service is fast and friendly.
El Chubasco is one of the best places to get an inexpensive, tasty meal in Park City. I spend a lot of time in Park City and have eaten at many of the restaurants - this one is a hidden gem.
