Bambara serves a seasonally changing menu of new American cuisine, but chef Nathan Powers' signature steak frites with peppercorn jus and béarnaise sauce is always available, and always delicious.

Locally owned Christopher's has been a fixture in the Salt Lake City dining scene since 1995. Christopher's serves 21-day aged USDA Prime corn-fed beef, plus seafood flown in daily.

3. Fleming's Prime Steak House & Wine Bar
Fleming's features USDA Prime corn-fed beef, aged to perfection and hand cut. Cuts range from the 8-oz. Petite Filet Mignon to the 40-oz. Porterhouse for two guests. All steaks are seared at extremely high temperatures. Other dishes include prime burgers, seafood, salads, appetizers and tempting desserts. Fleming's wine bar includes special reserve selections as well as 30 wines available at $10 or less per glass.

4. Prime Steakhouse and Piano Bar in Park City
Prime Steakhouse and Piano Bar at the bottom of Main Street in Park City serves amazing prime steaks, tasty salads and side dishes, seafood and desserts. Their molten chocolate cake is a customer favorite. Discounts frequently available during the off-season.

5. Rodizio Grill

6. Ruby River
Ruby River is my favorite Salt Lake area moderately priced steakhouse. Try the New York strip with jacketed cinnamon yam, or top sirloin with coconut shrimp.

7. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
Ruth's Chris is back in Salt Lake City with another location in Park City. Ruth's Chris's prime aged steaks are seared to perfection at 1800 degrees and topped with fresh butter.

8. Spencer's for Steaks and Chops
Spencer's for Steaks and Chops serves USDA prime grade steaks that are aged, hand cut and seared to perfection in a 1600 degree broiler. Spencer's also offers chicken, pork chops, lamb chops and seafood and a variety of decadent desserts.

9. Tucanos Brazilian Grill
At Tucanos the meat is skewered and flame broiled, and servers keep bringing it to your table until you tell them to stop. Selections include about 15 different types of beef, pork, poultry, seafood, fruits and vegetables. Steak lovers might want to order the bacon-wrapped filet mignon. The huge salad bar is included in the price.
