July is a busy month crowded with events. The Fourth of July fireworks and the Days of '47, celebrating Utah's pioneer heritage are two of the biggest celebrations in July.
Salt Lake City Event Calendar for July
As always, if you or your organization has an event that you would like to see listed here, please e-mail me at saltlakecity@about.com. All events are subject to change without notice and the prices may change. Please check the organization's website for up-to-date information on all activities.
The Fourth of July in Salt Lake City
As you plan your festivities for the Fourth of July, please remember Salt Lake City firework restrictions. Play safe and be prepared. Consider watering your lawns before fireworks are lit, have a bucket of water or sand nearby to put out stray sparks and light only those fireworks that are approved. Otherwise, strict fines may result and you will be responsible for any damages.
- Sandy City - Fourth of July Celebration
Starting at 7 a.m on the Southtowne Promenade, Sandy City will host a variety of events to celebrate Independence Day including a 5K Fun Run and 10K Classic. Rides, vendors and live music will be provided from 10 a.m-10 p.m. Round out the day with a parade at 6 p.m and fireworks at 10 p.m.

At 10 p.m, Sugarhouse Park is the site of a popular, well-attended fireworks display.
This year, because of the Innovate 80 bridge construction, plan on coming early to reserve your spot and carpool to reduce traffic. It's likely you'll be redirected through 1700 East, up 2700 South to the 2300 East on-ramp or down 2700 South to the 700 East on-ramp.
- Murray Fun Days
At 8:30 a.m, join your neighbors at the Fashion Place Mall on 6191 South State Street to view the parade that goes to Murray Park at 5201 South Murray Park Lane. There, participate in community baseball games, hot air balloon rides and face painting. Fireworks start at 10 p.m.
