Black Friday Shopping Events

2013

By

Some of my most organized friends have had their Christmas shopping done since Halloween, but for me "Black Friday," the day after Thanksgiving, represents the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Once Thanksgiving is over, I can really get into the spirit of the winter gift-giving holidays.

Salt Lake area merchants are providing lots of extra shopping hours for Black Friday this year, plus special events, giveaways and entertainment to add an extra festive air to your holiday shopping experience.

Black Friday at Bambara

Tired of navigating midnight crowds Thanksgiving night, dazed from tryptophan, knowing you're going home to a sink full of dirty dishes? When downtown is your destination for Black Friday, stop by Bambara for a Black Friday Brunch from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Prices are a la carte and range from $2 - $16. Shoppers wanting to "shop 'till they drop" can simply drop into bed at Hotel Monaco with the 'Black Friday' package, including deluxe accommodations in the heart of downtown, overnight valet parking for one car, a $25 gift certificate to City Creek Center, and a welcome gift upon arrival. Rates start at $155.

City Creek Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday. Shoppers can enjoy the mall's new holiday decorations and fountain shows and get photos taken with Santa. City Creek offers a "virtual line" for Santa photos, so shoppers can register for a turn to take a photo, then enjoy shopping while waiting for a text message notification when it's time to take the photo.

Note: Some City Creek stores have extended hours for Black Friday - check individual store websites for more information.
