A great bookstore seems to open up a world of possibilities, and browsing through a favorite bookstore is one of life's simple pleasures. Salt Lake City offers plenty of wonderful bookstores, both chain an independent.
Barnes and Noble Gateway
Barnes and Noble has several locations in the Salt Lake area, but one of the largest and best is at the north end of the Gateway, above the Olympic Legacy Fountain. The store features a cafe with lots of tables, a lovely patio, and free WiFi.

Dolly’s Bookstore has been on Main Street in Park City since 1975. Dolly's offers books for readers of all tastes and ages, with a large selection of books about Utah, Park City and outdoor recreation. It's a cozy store that is home to two cats, Che and Dolly, and as an added bonus it's adjacent to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

Golden Braid Books
Golden Braid Books is a sanctuary for "conscious living," offering books and other products to enhance spiritual life and well being. It's been in business since 1979 and offers a beautiful environment with a lovely patio garden, adjacent to the Oasis Cafe.

Ken Sanders Rare Books is a full service antiquarian bookshop in downtown Salt Lake City. They have a wide variety of titles, but they specialize in books related to the American West, including books by Edward Abbey, Wallace Stegner and B. Traven, as well as books on Mormonism, Native Americans and other Western topics.

The King's English Bookshop has been in business since 1977, and the owner, Betsy Burton, is a big part of the local literary scene. The King's English offers personal service, local author appearances and a large selection of children's books.

Weller Book Works
Weller Book Works was founded as Zion Bookstore over 80 years ago. Over the years it has been known as Sam Weller’s Books and Sam Weller’s Zion Bookstore. The store is now operated by third generation owners Catherine and Tony Weller. Weller Book Works sells new, used and rare books in historic Trolley Square. They have more than three million titles in their vast collection.
