Favorable wind patterns make Point of the Mountain one of the best gliding locations in the world, and people have been gliding from this spot since the 1920s. Now, due to the efforts of Salt Lake County and Draper City officials along with the Utah hang gliding and paragliding community, gliders have a park with restrooms, grass, picnic tables and a parking lot instead of the dirt and weeds they used to have at the launching area.
There are a lot of outfitters in the Salt Lake area offering hang gliding and paragliding lessons and tandem flights. The best place to start looking is the website of the Utah Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association.
